We asked hundreds of guys what their favorite article of clothing was in their wardrobe was and not at all surprise to us their answer was Jeans.

So we asked Our Fashion Guy and resident stylist to give us some pointers on how to find the perfect jean.

The Main Styles of Fashion Jeans

1) Baggy - The major appeal of baggy jeans is the comfort. So, if you're looking for a pair of jeans in which to hang around your apartment or go to a movie, spend the day in the park, baggies are a great choice. You have to be careful while shopping for baggy jeans to pay attention to your look and height and size. Baggy jeans can make guys who are on the slim side look slimmer and guys on the bigger side look a little bigger.

2) Carpenter/worker - Fashion Guy tells us these are not the best in a fashion choice they are great for exactly what they are called Worker jeans. They are best worn on the construction site, or while painting working on your house or boat. You will get the most comfort from these mens fashion jeans .. but not the most style.

3) Relaxed/loose fit - Loose-fit jeans offer the best of both worlds for men; they're comfortable, but also look good. Relaxed jeans are perfect for running weekend errands, out on a casual afternoon date. Relaxed/loose fit jeans looks great with a cool tee shirt or loose button down shirt.

4) Boot cut - The Boot cut is by far our favorite cut. It is sexy and classy. The fit is very attractive worn with a tighter fitting shirt. The perfect date or night on the town Jean. This jean looks great with a casual jacket and boots.

There are a few others, the Tappered Leg or Euro look, the Retro look these are great jeans if you are going to a club or concert you will not get the most comfort or versatility out of these jeans, they are very trendy and trends like this go in and out.

Dress up black jeans for a date with a light blue or gray sweater and black shoes, and be sure to pick up your date gorgeous flowers to add that special touch. Always wear black shoes or boots with your black jeans.

The Perfect Fit

Using a measuring tape, measure your waist. Then measure your inseam. Jeans are usually sold in sizing regular and tall.

1) The sizes will be on the tag on the inside of the jeans and may also be on the hangtag.

2) While shopping try on jeans that match your measurements. Most department stores and mens shops have the jeans set on display by sizing. One of the most popular sizes in mens jeans is a 32/34 which would basically fit a guy who is 6ft to 6'1".

3) When trying on jeans look in the mirror from several different angles, tuck your shirt in and see how that looks then untuck and check from this view also. Make sure the fit is comfortable, move around a little in the jeans to see that they feel good on you.

4) Test to make sure you can fit your thumb in the waistline. You want to have a little bit of breathing room in the jeans waistline.

5) The cuff of the pant should not touch the floor if it does You can take them to a taylor to have them shortened if they are too long in length. You don't want them to be to short either - just touching the back of the shoe is a good length.

It's important to try on all jeans before you buy them unles you buy the same design and cut all the time and know the measurements that fit for you. It is also good to go shopping wearing something comfortable and easy to keep taking off and on to try different jeans on maybe even try on several different shirts to see how they may look when putting together an outfit.
